This 6 1/2”- 6 3/4" sterling silver cuff features a double layer with textured sterling silver and carved stars and crosses. Measuring 1 1/4" in width, this cuff has a central rectangle of spiny oyster shell. It is handcrafted by Navajo artist Emer Thompson.
According to research, spiny oysters are found buried at deep depths or attached to rocky reefs. The deeper they dig, the darker the pigment of the oyster shell which is how the colors range from a bright orange to a deep purple.
