These two stories are non-fiction.
I worked a short time for the Osage Nation government. The office was in the Superintendent's House on Grandview Avenue. I was curious about the building's history. The account of the house includes information about the first agent. A second part of the narrative is about a young boy who spent nearly a year there-Herbert Hoover. His aunt was the wife of one of the agents. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
There are several theories on how the town of Pawhuska received its name. It is probably up to the reader to decide which might be accurate.
I hope your curiosity is aroused by these two tales. And while you travel The Osage, enjoy its many attractions, stories and history.
